Storyline:

The jobless Cindy Campbell is recruited to work in a reviled house as guardian of an old woman and meets the apparition of a kid. In the mean time, the youngster child Robbie and the youthful girl Rachel of his nearby neighbor and crane administrator Tom Ryan are enjoying the end of the week with their washout father.

Cindy and Tom meet and experience passionate feelings for one another, yet when Giant Tripods attack Earth, Tom escapes with Robbie and Rachel; Cindy goes to a town, attempting to track down the response to an enigma to save the world; and the leader of USA puts together the protection of the planet in UN under his knowledge and authority.
